The mission of NCCAN! is to connect groups at the local, state and national level, to work together and get children back outdoors. NCCAN! is a resource to assist parents, teachers and caregivers to encourage children to experience the wonder that the natural environment inspires.
North Carolina is filled with natural beauty from coast to mountain range. It’s more intimate, personal beauty exists in the trees, forests, creeks, rivers, marshes, and lakes. Even with the close proximity of so much natural opportunity, children are spending less time outdoors.
With these goals, we hope to help our children value, discover and experience the natural world.
