NCCAN! (NC Children and Nature Coalition), was started in response to the novel written by Richard Louv’s book, Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children From Nature-Deficit Disorder. Re-introducing children back to the wonders of nature through self exploration.
NCCAN!’s vision is that children will have the opportunity to value, discover and experience the natural world around them.
NCCAN!’s mission is to establish a relationship between children and the natural world by bringing together people and organizations to strengthen, broaden, and support efforts that build these connections.
PLAY AGAIN At a time when children spend more time in the virtual world than the natural world, PLAY AGAIN unplugs a group of media savvy teens and takes them on their first wilderness adventure, documenting the wonder that comes from time spent in nature and inspiring action for a sustainable future.
Where Do the Children Play? Where Do The Children Play? is a one-hour documentary for public television that examines how restrictive patterns of sprawl, congestion, and endless suburban development across America are impacting children’s mental and physical health and development.
