First Baptist Kindergarten Outdoor Environment

The First Baptist Kindergarten is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and licensed by the State of South Carolina. In 1989 the teaching staff began to study the Reggio Emilia Approach, an educational philosophy which originated in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Integration of our interpretation of this philosophy guides the learning process. Children are perceived as competent thinkers who may investigate possibilities with expertise. The classroom environment is established as a laboratory setting created to encourage each child’s creative exploration.

NLI worked with the church building committee to develop a schematic design for the Kindergarten and Infant/Toddler outdoor play and learning environments.
